Splash of Passion
The intensity of the embrace has been captured dramatically in this frame as the waves splash onto the rocks and break into millions of droplets filling in to create a passionate backdrop. The couple however continue to be oblivious to the surroundings while being drawn into each others world. I captured this moment one afternoon, while exploring Laguna Beach, Los Angeles, USA. We were all in twosomes-the rocks with the slashed water, the couple together and my Nikon with me. Together we created this image.
The technique lay in choosing the camera angle, high shutter speed to freeze the droplets and the use of tele-photo lens to compress the distance between the splash and the couple. The effect thus created is one where the body language of the two (the splash and the couple) while in competition with each other are perfectly synchronized.

On this month’s picture, he says, “While sauntering along the Venice Beach, Los Angeles in the month of June, I captured this frame during a weekly event “Circle of Drums”. Overcoming barriers of age, class and gender, a wide variety of fun loving people gather there to enjoy pot, hash and other drugs, all under the very eyes of the police! To add to the aura and ambiance they play different musical instruments till the wee hours of the morning when they are gently evicted by the police.
The harmony created is so complete that somehow all the different tunes played by the different musical instruments fit in together melodiously to create a symphony in an orchestra. I was fascinated by this girl who was a part of the group and she got enticed to pose for my camera. It was her eyes that did the trick for me and the details of her eyes speak volumes about the quality of the lens .

The perfect prelude, the perfect sequence in a perfect frame make it an awesome capture of indulgence !
It’s awesome! so much of involvement that it seems they are oblivious of the fact they are being photographed!
