Today we have pictures from a Salsa Street Festival by our Canada Promoter Chris P.R. Shamsher. “We have a lot of street festivals in Toronto, where they block the street to traffic for a few days, and one can dance right in the middle of the street. Anyone is free to dance, in addition to special Dance & Musical presentations, not to mention various types of foods that one can enjoy and it all happens right on the street”, says Chris.

This particular pandanggo requires skill in balancing three lighted oil lamps or tinghoy, one on the head and at the palms of each hand. It is characterized by lively steps and clapping that varies in rhythm in 3/4 time.The lights of the lamps are said to represent fireflies that are fluttering in the night.
