When Toddler Puffs 40 Cigarettes A Day!
He’s totally addicted. He gets angry and screams and batters his head against the wall. It’s the story of toddler Ardi Rizal, who throws tantrums if he can’t puff 40 cigarettes a day. At a tender age of two, Rizal’s health has been ruined by this habit of his and he can hardly move by himself. This little boy from Indonesia is unfit to run around with children.
Ardi smokes only one brand and his habit costs his parents £3.78 a day in Musi Banyuasin, in Indonesia’s South Sumatra province. He got into the habit of smoking when his father Mohammed offered him cigarette one-and-a-half years ago. 56-pound toddler is now an overweight and is so out of shape that he can barely walk.
This recent case has surely left the world shocked and many children activists fuming. Ironically anybody, at any age, can buy cigarettes in Indonesia that has not ratified the World Health Organisations’ treaty on tobacco. 25 percent of Indonesia’s kids aged 3 to 15 have tried smoking, reveals a survey.
