What An Inning!
Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor has finally resigned following the IPL controversy. While Tharoor came in news for his alleged relationship with Sunanda Pushkar, the daughter of an army officer, who runs a spa business in Dubai, and of course, alleged involvement in IPL Kochi Team, Modi found himself in the Income Tax net. Whenever something as big as IPL is conceived and implemented in India, controversies and fraud of this stature are bound to crop up. Why can’t we manage and run big events without anybody eating into the pie for his own selfish share in the profits, or without someone involving someone of his own into the deal? Has integrity become such a rare run that nobody is ready to bat for it? Why a scratch-less inning seems like a double century, too long a road to reach?
Life no doubt offers us a sticky wicket, but it is up to us to play our innings effectively, with integrity. When not, the wicket is bound to fall unceremoniously one day, the sooner the better.

……चलते हैं मैकदे से मीर ! बहुत खूब सर…
Da !!!
My heart still weeps for Shashi.
Someone who was doing expectionally well for India (as a under secretary at UNO and slightly fell short of being UN’s Secretary General) has dilute himself by intoducing in Indian Politics.
A genuine advice : A classic diplomat or Statesman should away from such politics.
I am still hoping Shahsi’s recovery in terms of his image.
Thank You
Sudeep
i am happy that issue which is hogging lime light has been touched in right perspective
The political interference is absolute nonsense!! FIFA brooks no political interference whatsoever in its member countries and rightly so. If this were football, India would be swiftly suspended. Why do self-intoxicated politicians insist on so much personal agrandizement? They should get on with serving the country.
Modi is the one to be blamed for the episode…. BCCI should show him the doors before its too late.
The game (IPL) has lost its sheen because of Political corruption & lack of integrity. Not only this, common men have also lost their confidence in the Indian system….current IPL controversy is the best example here.
Otherwise the IPL is a brilliant concept. Just what the country needed. It was high time that Indians learned to separate sport and nationalism just a little bit at least. For me it is heart warming to see players of different nationalities celebrating wickets and victories together on the same teams. I hope this controversy doesn’t kill the IPL. I find the constant talk of how much players are earning and celebrity fans, etc., quite crass; but the game itself on the pitch is inspiring. Long live IPL – with or without Lalit Modi et al!
