Glimpse Of Canada – Meal On Wheels!

Fast-food Vendor Truck on Queen street by Skating Rink at Nathan Phillips Square

Nathan Phillips Square provides the people of Toronto with many attractions and facilities on a year round basis. Canada promoter, Chris Shamsher today shares with us a picture of a meal truck stationed at the Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto. Hot Dog Stands and Meal Trucks are all over the place in downtown Toronto and many of them are around working more than 12 hours during the day. Meal Trucks have more choice in terms of their offerings and are regulated for the city and required to maintain high safety and health standards.

  1. About 10 years back perhaps, someone had started the fast food on a van but, I believe, he was shooed off by Administration. I saw it parked several times on the lake in the evening, but it vanished after sometimes.
Colorfully designed meal vans are not only colorful punctuations on any city’s architecture besides fulfilling a need for a quick fill.
During my days in New Delhi, way back in 1980-81, there used to be two such vans on the news-street of Delhi, Barakhamba Road, that used to serve the journos in hurry where we could catch a desi burger or a hotdog with coffee.
With standardised service formats and regulations on hygiene, these vans would be popular addition on tourist circuits.
